Throughout its history, Egypt has been an attractive destination for celebrities and public figures throughout the world. Recently, a number of celebrities visited Egypt. Let’s have a quick view at them:

Nathalie Emmanuel

The “Game of Thrones” actress announced her visit to Egypt to attend the Cairo International Film Festival held last November. She shared her experience in Luxor by posting some pictures inside the temples. Also, she was delighted by her experience in El- Gouna in Hurghada city stating that she was sad to leave and felt grateful to the staff of the hotel. She posted “thank you! Loved every second! But onwards I go…. My Egyptian adventure continues”.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom

The American Pop Star “Katy Perry” decided to have a totally different celebration for her birthday through a special 10 day trip to Egypt with her fiancé “Orlando Bloom”. Along with family and friends, at the end of October 2019, she celebrated her birthday at the Temple of Edfu. She rode camels in the desert at night and had a relaxing time in Siwa Oasis. In addition, she made sure not to miss the greatness of the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx.

Perry is obsessed with Ancient Egypt. She chose to dress as Cleopatra in her “Dark Horse” music video. She even published a post on her Instagram account, showing how much she is aware of Egyptian beliefs: “Ancient Egyptians believed that when you pass on, your heart had to be weighed. It had to be lighter than a feather to be qualified for the trip to the afterlife. My mother has called me feather since I was a little girl and I hope after all is said and done my heart is as light as one”.


Jennifer Lopez

The famous American actress, dancer, singer, producer, fashion designer and businesswoman, Jennifer Lopez, visited Egypt in August 2019. She performed at a concert in the North Coast, and visited Al-Alamein City, the Giza Pyramids, and Cairo. She described her visit to Egypt as “the summertime of her life”.


Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos, the Real Madrid Football Team Defender, is another celebrity who visited Egypt along with his family for the first time in July 2019. He landed in Hurghada City to enjoy its natural beauty. Ramos did not hesitate to show his gratitude and love for Egypt by saying “One of the best trips ever. Now I know why everyone speaks so highly of Egypt and its people. You will always have a piece of my heart. It was an incredible experience.


Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz

Alicia Keys, the Grammy Award-Winning Singer, visited Egypt with her husband Swizz Beatz, the Music Producer, and their children on a summer vacation in August 2018. Alicia Keys is considered to be one of the biggest admirers of the Egyptian history to the extent that she named her oldest son “Egypt Daoud”. The couple enjoyed the vibes of the Egyptian antiquity with its natural landscape from visiting the Great Pyramids to enjoying a cruise down the Nile River.


Usher

Usher, one of the most prominent American singers, visited Egypt in May 2018. Usher’s visit was a bit different from other celebrities’ as he visited an unconventional destination; Siwa Oasis in the Western Desert. Siwa is considered one of the most famous therapeutic destinations, where one can be treated from several maladies.

Egypt has been a top tourist destination for many celebrities. In addition to the ones already mentioned in this short article, there are several others who visited Egypt, such as Brandon Stanton, the founder of Humans of New York, Patrick Dempsey, Clive Owen, Owen Wilson, Jason Derulo; and the list continues. Egypt remains a cultural hub with an exceptional beauty and a rich history that attract both celebrities and public figures from all over the world.
